PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN
The Presbyterian Women will gather for our circle meeting on Thursday, March 11 at 1:00PM, in the church social hall. Please mark your calendar - we sure hope to see you there! We need a hostess, so please call Evelyn Gwin if you would like to provide light refreshments.
FLOWERS IN SANCTUARY
The flowers in the sanctuary this Sunday have been given in loving memory of Randall Carpenter by Louise Carpenter and Randy and Olivia Carpenter.
SESSION MEETING
The Session will meet on Tuesday, March 16 at 7:00 PM.
CHOIR PRACTICE
There will be Choir Practice on Wednesday, March 17 at 7:00 PM.
PALM SUNDAY LUNCHEON AND EASTER EGG HUNT
On Palm Sunday, March 28 we will have a FELLOWSHIP LUNCHEON followed by an EASTER EGG HUNT for the children. Bring a covered dish for lunch – Bring your children and grandchildren for the Easter Egg Hunt. Children should bring a basket to collect eggs. Come and join us! It will be a wonderful time of fellowship.
EASTER LILIES
If you would like to give an Easter Lilly in Memory or in Honor of a loved one, please bring it to the church on Saturday, April 3 for the Easter Sunday service.
CHICKEN SOUP BRIGADE
The Chicken Soup Brigade for March is Helen Smith. Please let her know if you know someone in need.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
During 2010 we need volunteers to prepare the Communion table and provide flowers for our worship services.
COMMUNION – A calendar of Communion Sundays is posted on the bulletin board. Please sign up to prepare Communion. If you have not done this and would like to learn, contact Evelyn Gwin. She will pair you with someone who has prepared Communion previously, so you can learn.
FLOWERS - A flower calendar is also posted on the bulletin board. Please sign up if you can donate flowers or prepare them. If you are donating them in honor or in memory of someone, please tell our church secretary so that a note can be placed in the bulletin.
FOOD COLLECTION FOR OUR TWO LOCAL FOOD PANTRIES
We have two Food Pantries in Bath County that provide food for families in need each month. One is conducted by Ashwood United Methodist Church. The second food pantry is conducted by Windy Cove Presbyterian Church.
Both Food Pantries have seen an increase in the number of families receiving food during recent months . We are asking our members to collect food for the food pantries. We will donate the canned goods to Ashwood one month, and Windy Cove the next, and alternate months. You can bring food any Sunday and put it in the box. It will be collected on the last Sunday of each month and delivered to the food pantry. Thank you for supporting this local ministry and helping the families in our community who need food.
